Bio
Hi, I'm Jason Murphy.
I’m really not all that great at talking about myself but here is a little background. I consider myself a digital native who has a very firm grasp on digital and social media marketing.
In the past 10 years I’ve bought and sold more than 3,000 domain names, managed hundreds of websites and trained a ton of sales people on the digital marketing concepts I’ve learned along the way.
I am by no means an expert or guru because to be honest that is practically impossible to call anyone, especially in this industry. But I am incredibly passionate and always evolving my strategies and approach to business and marketing. I’m a firm believer in lifelong learning and have an innate responsibility to share what I learn with others. I’d love to teach this stuff at the university level someday.
A few fun facts:
- I grew up in Parma, Ohio and played Varsity basketball.
- I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Interpersonal Communication
- I threw out the first pitch at Jacobs Field in 2005 (Home of the Cleveland, Indians).
- Started my own company in 2007 called ItzAboutYou, LLC
- Launched a niche social network for virtual assistants in 2007
- Consistently rank as one of the most influential people on Twitter in Cleveland.
- Was named one of the Top 10 Hottest Male Geeks on the Web in 2010.
In 2009 I began working as a consultant to advertising agencies, business owners and non-profits in my hometown. I get a lot of satisfaction doing this and have become quite active in the community as a result. Outside of work I enjoy hanging out with my 5 year-old son, Kelton James Murphy and I also like to play basketball and fish. Overall, I’m a pretty simple and fun-loving guy. People always tell me that I am easy to get along with, so I guess that’s a plus too. ;D
