Honestly torn between the two, but since I have to choose I’m going with the Y logo. I think it’s more all encompassing to the goal of your new web portal.

I like the first logo best. The combination of green and blue in your logo makes it jump off the page better than sticking with two shades of light blue and some light gray shading. IMO.

Although the Y logo looks smarter than the other one the color combination is better for second one . Since your web site is about shopping , I would vote for the second one (shopping bag),

Hi Jason,
If you’re looking for opinions there’ll be no shortage of those here! So here’s my 2-cents…
From an aesthetic point of view I believe the first logo is probably more successful. From a “brand” point of view it makes sense to include an abstract human element if you’re positioning the site as “An Internet Experienced Designed Around You”. My concern, however, is that the “Y” looks more like a lower case ‘i” so you might want to consider working a bit more on the shapes.
Best regards,
Curtis
The second logo looks too much like a lock instead of a shopping bag. I think if you can avoid that one, the second will be much stronger. I also suggest bumping up the YOU in the second so the text is aligned with the “porium”.
I like the second better and would consider removing the handle as it looks like a handbag.

Hi Jason,
Both are simple, clean and clear. Nice job on not trying to do a “pictogram” and call it a logo.
It’s clearly #1 for me. #2 looks a bit like a woman’s purse. Unless this aimed at a female audience, I’d not use #2. The person in the “Y” looks, well, you-phoric. That Y by itself will make a nice favicon, and can stand alone as a background graphic in other areas. I think it will work well as a quickly-recognizable symbol of your site/company.
I vote for the one on the right (but I think the shopping bag might be better in the green color!). I don’t know what the one on the left means and it is hard to read. When you’re trying to build a brand, it’s critical for your logo to be recognizable like the right one is.
I have to pick #2 because #1 looks like “iouporium.” If the “Y” were more obviously a “Y,” it would be my choice. It’s a great font, color combination, and the “Y” is a great shape. Except that it looks like an “i.”

If you’re looking for the idea of security to go with the second logo (youporium.com is down/unavailable), then I have a modified image for you at: http://picasaweb.google.com/ohiorenaissance/MiscStuff/photo#5140479328083366626
Let me know what you think.
Just a quick note. Found you on LinkedIn under “Answers”. Came to your website to view your logo. First logo (not knowing anything about who you are) looks like it has the letter “i” as the first letter. Glanced over at the second logo and realized that the “i” was actually a “y”.
I don’t know your business model, but my vote is to drop the first logo. It’s confusing and at first & second glance I saw the word “iouporium”. It took me a few seconds to figure out what the actual logo was saying.
I’m not a big fan of the second logo, but if I had to choose, I’d go with the logo on the right.
Hope that helps,
Jesse Zimmerman
What’s with the handbag (purse) in logo 2?
I would hone logo 1 a bit more – make the human figure a little more defined and call it good.
The Y on the left reminds me of an angel, may be offensive to some people. Drop the dot and improve on the “You” – Use the same type of script and the color green for “YOU”. However, the handbag for purchasing merchandise could be incorporated into the first suggestion, and would be more attractive using the script and color green as recommended above. Your Logo needs to be understood and an eye-catcher. Improve on the appearance of the handbag/shopping bag drawing, if you want to impress upon the consumer that this is a purchasing website.
Hi,
The better logo is the second, but, it lacks the exuberance of the first and is impersonal. All you’ve got to do is curve the |YOU| section _very_ subtly up. Turn the following brackets 90 degrees anticlockwise, and don’t curve it so quite so much. ( (
The fee for this breakthrough insight? Whatever you feel comfortable with, it took 12 minutes to assess and write down – it’s all the punctuation.

As a designer, I like the one on the left best as it stands out better than the one on the right.
